New Camera, More Pictures.

I got a new camera which mean I can take better pictures and record videos hopefully with time allowing. This is the Sony Alpha SLT- A58 DLSR. I haven't had a chance to really play around with it or do any recordings but next year I plan to get around to it. I'm ready to learn all the things I can with photography and editing. What are some good programs? Do you own a DSLR if so? Which model? Most of my pictures was taken with Iphone 5 and or Canon Powershot ELPH 110 HS
